it's not even that i love apples all the much. eating them is basically just something to do to occupy myself. and i like multi-tasking. so this morning i was eating an apple and shooting a video.

in terms of making those darn kids behave... i have two things:

(1) maybe you could demonstrate your teacher voice on the vlog. i'd like that.

(2) you said something about "making it real" for every kid in the class. that sounds like the right track to me. part of it may be that they're intimidated by the idea of "talking politics." for example, maybe they've heard the names, but they don't know who these candidates are. or they don't know much about what "health care" would mean for them. if you had them looking at specific issues, they could choose one that they "get," which could be less frustrating for them than trying to look at the candidates' whole platforms. i do realize that at this point, it may be too late in the game to change the assignment. also, i've been poring over essays and rubrics all night so all of the creativity and soulfulness has been removed from me.
